Get ready, get set read! 1,000 Books before Kindergarten image of Leo the lion reading a book

Learning to read begins long before a child starts kindergarten. Reading to children is the best way to prepare them for kindergarten.  Any child from birth to entering kindergarten can participate in this simple early literacy online challenge-it's as easy as ABC!

The goal is to share 1,000 books during these early childhood years.

Sharing a book can include singing a book together, talking about the pictures,
reading it cover to cover, or any other way that works for you and your child.

There are special incentives along the way for you and your child. You will also receive a special gift after you have reached the milestones of 100, 500, and 1,000 books.
