Resources for Teachers

The Library offers many services for Whittier teachers and students, including free library cards, class visits and tours by appointment, homework support, books and materials for educational, cultural, and information purposes.

Services and programs for Whittier school teachers include:

  • Class tours of the library. We'd love to meet your class! Call the Library and ask for Children's Services to schedule a tour.
  • The Library can visit your school! We can attend your back to school night, family literacy nights, or visit a classroom to read a book and talk about our services.
  • Request library books and reader's advisory for your classroom.
  • Teacher cards, which allow teachers who teach in Whittier schools to check out books for 4 weeks.
